McCarthy Calls for Swalwell to 'Be Removed from Congress' Over Chinese Communist Link

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is calling for Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) to "be removed from Congress" over bombshell reports of his relationship with a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spy.
On Tuesday morning, Axios published an apparent exposé about Chinese national Fang Fang, aka Christine Fang, who is believed to be a CCP spy who was operating on U.S. soil.
Fang targeted several aspiring politicians from 2011 to 2015, with a reported focus on Swalwell, a former Democratic presidential candidate.
Over the years, the CCP operative reportedly helped raise funding for Swalwell, who is, rather worryingly, a member of the House Intelligence Committee.
The Democrat rep has so far refused to say whether he had a sexual relationship with Fang, arguing that the information is "classified."
In light of the revelations, McCarthy has stated that Swalwell should be removed from the House Intel Committee and Congress.

The Republican leader also wondered if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) knew about Swalwell being targeted by a suspected Chinese spy.
Speaking with Fox News's Laura Ingraham, McCarthy urged a full investigation of the issue.
McCarthy said that members of the Intelligence Committee “are only selected for the Intel.
"Committee by the leaders of their party, meaning Nancy Pelosi," he explained.
"Nancy Pelosi is one of the Gang of Eight, along with myself.
"Did Nancy Pelosi know this had transpired when she put him on the committee?"

McCarthy then highlighted the apparent special treatment of China from several high-profile Democrats.
"We have our Sen. Dianne Feinstein, for two decades, the personal assistant, that hears all the private phone calls in the car and others, a Chinese spy," he said.
"Why did the Democrats pull out of the bipartisan China task force I had set up?
"Why did Speaker Pelosi pull out of that?
"Why have they denied certain bills that would hold China accountable, that have passed the Senate, not come to the floor?
"Why do they focus on Silicon Valley members of Congress?
"Why is he still on the Intel Committee?
"Why is he still a member of Congress?
"Did Adam Schiff know, as chairman of that committee, that he had this problem?”

McCarthy added, “Not only should he be removed from the Intel [Committee].
"He should be removed from Congress, as well.”
