Gavin Newsom Exempts Hollywood Entertainment Industry from State's Stay-at-Home Order
Film and TV shoots will continue in the state

Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom has moved to exempt the entertainment industry from California's lockdown mandate, allowing Hollywood film and TV shoots to continue.
The decision will allow celebrities to continue to work while the rest of the state is under lockdown.
But a small portion of blue-collar crew members who light the sets will also benefit from the decision.
The entertainment production industry is exempt from the rule and is on the list of essential work, according to Deadline.
Newsom’s order requires a large part of the state cease non-essential work, travel, and gatherings between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. every day until December 21.
Californians in “purple-tier” counties will be affected where coronavirus cases are rising the fastest.

The entertainment and production industry employs thousands of people each year, which include camera operators, sound engineers, electricians, carpenters, truck drivers, makeup artists, and caterers.
According to data from the California Film Commission the production industry employs tens of thousands of crew members.
California’s first shut-down saw everything rind to a halt in March, before remaining dormant for several months.
Earlier this week, Newsom was caught “allegedly eating at the French Laundry restaurant” and failing to adhere to coronavirus health guidelines, according to exclusive photos obtained by FOX 11 News in Los Angeles.

Investigative reporter Bill Melugin tweeted:
“We checked the metadata on the photos to confirm legitimacy."
“Taken at 11/6/2020 at 6:20 pm with the location tag at The French Laundry.”
EXCLUSIVE: We've obtained photos of Governor Gavin Newsom at the Napa dinner party he's in hot water over. The photos call into question just how outdoors the dinner was. A witness who took photos tells us his group was so loud, the sliding doors had to be closed. 10pm on @FOXLA pic.twitter.com/gtOVEwa864

Neon Nettle also reported Newsom was caught attending a party that violated his own COVID-19 lockdown order.
The CA government’s guidelines limit the number of people who can attend a social gathering during the coronavirus pandemic.
