Rand Paul Warns Dr. Fauci Will ‘Keep Us Masked Until the End of Time’
'The incidence of COVID-positive individuals has gone through the roof'
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has warned that White House coronavirus task force member, Dr. Anthony Fauci, will keep us masked "until the end of time.”
Appearing Thursday on Newsmax, Paul warned that "social distancing is not working," and "the numbers" prove it.
Bob Sellers asked Paul:
"We’re going into the winter. We’re being warned it’s going to be a bad winter when it comes to COVID. We have the vaccines that are very promising. How do you see the coming months?"
Rand Paul responded:
"The incidence of COVID-positive individuals has gone through the roof."
"The masks aren’t working; social distancing’s not working. What is my proof? The numbers," Paul claimed.
"The numbers are going through the roof. So all these mask mandates have had no effect on it."
"The incidence of the virus has gotten worse since we’ve done lockdowns. We should not comfort ourselves with masks," he continued.
"We should push hard to get the vaccine released. I think it’s ready to go for those who are willing to sign an informed consent and voluntarily take it," he added.
"And I think millions of people would sign up, and we would very quickly get to a large enough number that people would be more satisfied with the safety," he added.
"I would get it out there, I wouldn’t wait. Fauci’s talking about April.
"I think that’s a terrible idea," Paul said.
"He’s going to keep us masked until the end of time, which does very little of anything to change the course of this."
Earlier this month, Fauci warned that people may still be required to wear masks and continue practicing social distancing even after they've been vaccinated.
The Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told CNN anchor Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” Sunday that COVID-19 precautions will still be necessary after a vaccine becomes available to Americans.
He insisted that life will be unlikely to return to "normal" following mass public vaccinations.
“I would recommend to people to not to abandon all public health measures just because you’ve been vaccinated,” Fauci told Tapper.
“Because even though for the general population it might be 90 to 95 percent effective, you don’t necessarily know for you how effective it is.”
