Michelle Obama Attacks Trump Voters for ‘Choosing Lies, Hate, Chaos, and Division'
Former First Lady alienates President's base

Former First Lady Michelle Obama tweeted that those who voted for President Donald Trump supported “lies, hate, chaos, and division,' before urging Democrats to reach out to them.
Obama's message highlighted the problems Americans will have unifying after the presidential election, which despite the narrative that Joe Biden won, is still being contested.
But despite the former First Lady's veiled call to unify, she is still herself stoking division by alienating Trump voters.
I’m beyond thrilled that my friend @JoeBiden and our first Black and Indian-American woman Vice President, @KamalaHarris, are headed to restore some dignity, competence, and heart at the White House. Our country sorely needs it. pic.twitter.com/yXqQ3tYRoa

Obama famously told Democrats at their convention in Philadelphia, "When they go low, we go high," suggesting Trump's base was using underhand division tactics.

Obama tweeted
"Thank you to all of you who poured every ounce of your hope and determination into this democracy over these past four years, registering voters, getting them to the polls, keeping folks informed. More votes were cast in this election than ever before. It’s because of you."

She added:
"And after we celebrate — and we should all take a moment to exhale after everything we’ve been through — let’s remember that this is just a beginning. It’s a first step. Voting in one election isn’t a magic wand, and neither is winning one."

"Let’s remember that tens of millions of people voted for the status quo, even when it meant supporting lies, hate, chaos, and division. We’ve got a lot of work to do to reach out to these folks in the years ahead and connect with them on what unites us," Obama concluded.

Earlier this year, Obama threw her support behind her voting rights group, When We All Vote, to expand vote-by-mail options.
The former first lady's celebrity-backed organization is set to announce the support for legislation introduced by a handful of Democratic lawmakers during the coronavirus crisis, Axios reported.
The new legislation allowed registered voters to vote by absentee ballot, making it easier for voters to obtain mail-in ballots.
In August, Michelle Obama attacked Trump claiming he "is the wrong president for our country."
The former first lady used her closing speech during the first night of the convention to directly attack President Trump's leadership, claiming he is "clearly in over his head."
Speaking during a pre-recorded message from her $11.75 million Martha's Vineyard home, Obama claimed Trump "has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job."
