Rapper Lil Wayne faced backlash after he announced he had met with President Donald Trump this week.

The music star praised POTUS's work on criminal justice reform and the administration’s “Platinum Plan,” which was recently endorsed by fellow rapper ICE Cube.

Lil Wayne tweeted a photo fo him and the president together:

“Just had a great meeting with [President Donald Trump]"

“Besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform,” he added.

“The platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership.

"He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”

Trump later retweeted the post from his account.

Wayne isn't the only rapper working on the Platinum Plan.

Earlier this month, the Trump campaign revaled it was working with iconic rapper Ice Cube on the plan to economically empower African-Americans.

Ice Cube, whose legal name is O’Shea Jackson Jr., gave permission to reveal he has been working with Trump on the groundbreaking platform for black Americans.

Earlier this year, Wayne called on those protesting the death of George Floyd, who was killed in police custody, not to make his death about race.

The rapper said folks need to be “very specific” when reacting to perceived injustices.

He warned not to blame an “entire race” or the “entire force.”

Meanwhile, Wayne's endorsement of Trump didn't go down too well with the leftists on Twitter:

One Twitter use wrote:

"Bro !!! You are a legend to me in term of music and it will always be the case though . Have been following your music since the hot boyz, cash money millionaire etc... But I really hope you will think one day of the decision you just made."

Bishop Talbert Swan wrote:

"I don’t care how many uninformed, non-voting, rappers 46-1 pulls from the sunken place to endorse and take photos with him, there is no platinum plan for Black people."

"Taking away healthcare, justifying our murders, and suppressing our right to protest injustice is a dirt plan"

Another Twitter user wrote:

"Wow.... in a negative way."

But some Twitter users were more optimistic and spoke positively of Lil Wayne's endorsement o Trump:

Director Robby Starbuck wrote:

"I apologize in advance for all the racist venom Democrats are gonna throw at you for this but MAGA will have your back! Democrats just get really mad when Latinos like me or Black men like you decide we’re allowed to think for ourselves."

Conservative author Melissa Tate Wrote:

"The black awakening is here. The destructive democrat party that destroyed the black family is not going to convince the 94% of black people they need to win election. Enough of us are waking up to end them."

Pro-Trump account #ThePersistence wrote:

"Thank you for helping to save our country."
