Golf Legend Jack Nicklaus Endorses Trump to 'Save America from Socialism'
Golfer says president 'will bring the American Dream to many families across the nation'
Legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus has officially endorsed Donald Trump for re-election in a glowing statement where he declares the president will "save America from socialism."
Nicklaus took to Twitter to endorse Trump's campaign late Wednesday.
He also urged undecided Americans to give the incumbent another look.
Nicklaus pointed out what some see as the president’s shortcomings and how Trump can be perceived at times.
But the sports legend said he’s learned to “look past that and focus on what he’s tried to accomplish.”
80-year-old Nicklaus went on to describe his family's experience of the American Dream and explained that Trump is making that dream a reality for other families across the nation.
Nicklaus is an 18-time major champion who recovered from a coronavirus diagnosis in March.
In his statement endorsing Trump, he mentioned that he was raised in the Midwest in a middle-class family.
He said his grandfathers worked on the railroad and relished living in a country where the American Dream is achievable.

Nicklaus wrote that he wants more families to achieve that dream and fears the U.S. could turn into a socialist country where the government runs your life.
“This is not a personality contest; it’s about patriotism,” he said.
“His love for America and its citizens, and putting his country first, has come through loud and clear," he added.
However, as Neon Nettle reported earlier this month, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden also picked up a very notable endorsement of his own.
Appearing on national TV in Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a glowing endorsement for former Vice President Biden's election campaign.
Putin praised Democrat Biden during a wide-ranging interview with the Rossiya TV channel.
While discussing the upcoming U.S. election in November, Putin attempted to mark a positive resemblance between Biden and the Democrats and Soviet communists.
He told the Russian public that the Democratic Party has "shared values" with Communism.
Putin spoke favorably about Biden, who he linked to communist ideology.
