Democrats erupted in response to a majority of U.S. Senators voting to confirm Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Monday night, with some demanding the court-packing.

Reps Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) responded to the vote by calling for packing the Supreme Court.

AOC tweeted, “Expand the court.”

Omar replied:

“Remember that Republicans have lost 6 of the last 7 popular votes, but have appointed 6 of the last 9 justices. By expanding the court we fix this broken system and have the court better represent the values of the American people.”

The majority of Americans supported confirming Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, according to recent polls.

The support for Barrett's confirmation increased as the public saw more of her.

Meanwhile, just 28 percent of the public opposed her confirmation.

And 27 percent support Democrats’ call for court-packing.

Ocasio-Cortez continued:

“Republicans do this because they don’t believe Dems have the stones to play hardball like they do. And for a long time they’ve been correct."

"But do not let them bully the public into thinking their bulldozing is normal but a response isn’t. There is a legal process for expansion.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s tweets were promptly debunked by various pundits online.

Guy Benson wrote:

"Exactly wrong. Republicans have *finally* played a bit of Dem-style hardball, after decades of one-sided escalations. You’re now demanding the most radical and unpopular one to date."

Matt Walsh wrote:

"Of all the inane bullshit that constantly streams from the blabbering mouths of lying Democrat shills like AOC, perhaps the most inane is the claim that Republicans always play hardball while Democrats meekly comply. The literal exact opposite is the case."

Alexandra DeSanctis wrote:

"Ah yes, playing hardball and bulldozing by *squints, checks notes* confirming and swearing in a justice nominated by the duly elected President of the United States."

Democrat vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris also wrote that Democrats would not forget it.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called Barrett’s confirmation 'illegitimate'

“Today Republicans denied the will of the American people by confirming a Supreme Court justice through an illegitimate process,” Harris claimed.

“All in their effort to gut the Affordable Care Act and strip health care from millions with pre-existing conditions."

Harris concluded: “We won’t forget this.”

Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also hinted that Democrats may pack the Supreme Court and District Courts during an MSNBC interview.

Pelosi claimed Barrett’s confirmation was a “usurped Supreme Court seat."

She then made unsubstantiated claims that President Donald Trump had manipulated the Supreme Court.

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) said: “everything is on the table” in response to a question about packing the courts with judges.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called Barrett’s confirmation “illegitimate.”
