Brennan, Clapper: Russia Behind Hunter Biden Emails, ‘Genuine or Not’
50 former 'Obama-era' officals sign letter
An open letter alleging that the explosive Hunter Biden emails are “Russian disinformation," even if they "are genuine," has been signed by 50 former intelligence officials.
The letter was led by Obama-era Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who famously pushed the Russia “collusion” narrative against President Donald Trump.
Clapper was joined by other former officals, including former CIA Director John Brennan, who also fanned the flames of the now-debunked Russia hoax.
Earlier this month, Neon Nettle reported Brennan briefed former President Barack Obama on an alleged plot by Hillary Clinton to smear then-presidential candidate Donald Trump by creating the Russian collusion hoax, bombshell documents declassified by the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) revaled at the time.
Brennan told Obama about Hillary's "plan" to link the Trump campaign to Russia as a means of distracting the public from her private email server scandal in the run-up to the 2016 election.
Politico reported on the letter signed by former intelligence officials:
“More than 50 former senior intelligence officials have signed on to a letter outlining their belief that the recent disclosure of emails allegedly belonging to Joe Biden’s son “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”
But the letter doesn't show any concern that Biden could be compromised by foreign powers.
The letter says, in part (original emphasis):
[W]e write to say that the arrival on the US political scene of emails purportedly belonging to Vice President Biden’s son Hunter, much of it related to his time serving on the Board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.
We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement — just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.
If we are right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we believe strongly that Americans need to be aware of this.

On Monday, Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe confirmed that Hunter Biden's laptop leak was not part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
“Let me be clear; the intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports and we shared no intelligence with chairman Schiff or any other member of Congress that Hunter Biden’s laptop is part of some Russian disinformation campaign."
“It’s simply not true.”

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff's also claimed that the laptop story was part of Russian disinformation.
Schiff had repeated similar false claims during the Russian investigation, which was later debunked.
“We know that this whole smear on Joe Biden comes from the Kremlin," Schiff said on CNN, completely unchallenged by host Wolf Blitzer.
"That's been clear for well over a year now that they've been pushing this false narrative about this vice president and his son.”
Schiff was accused of spreading "falsehoods shamelessly about Russia and Donald Trump for three years even as his own committee gathered contrary evidence," by The Wall Street Journal editorial board in May.
On Monday, a second senior U.S. intelligence official confirmed Hunter Biden's laptop files are the real deal.
