Google Searches for ‘Move to Canada’ Spike After Trump-Biden Debate
Searches spiked just one hour into the first presidential debate on Tuesday

Searches on Google for "move to Canada" spiked shortly after the first presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Joe Biden got under way on Tuesday night.
The leading Internet search engine saw queries related to moving from the US to the neighboring country soar following the chaotic debate hosted by Fox News host and registered Democrat Chris Wallace.
According to Google Trends, "How to apply for Canadian citizenship" skyrocketed an hour into the debate and peaked around 10.30 pm.
It spiked higher at 3.44 am Wednesday before dropping off but soared again around 7.30 am as the country started to wake up.
Most of the searches came from Massachusetts followed by Michigan, New York, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.

Some Twitterers were supportive, others not so much.

The threat of people "considering" leaving the United States as the election looms had started before the debate, however.

As Neon Nettle reported last week, singer-turned-Democratic Party operative John Legend called on his fellow liberals to consider leaving America if President Donald Trump wins reelection in November.
Legend, the husband of leftist former model Chrissy Teigen, warned that Americans "will have to start thinking about going somewhere else" if Trump beats Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden.
The Grammy-winning star made the call-to-action during an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, in which he also claimed that the president is “trying to destroy democracy.”
He complained that Teigen and himself have been forced to consider leaving America because of Trump and what Legend calls the president’s “embarrassing” leadership style.
"We can’t bear another four years of this,” Legend declared.
