5-Year-Old Girl Stabbed to Death in Mayor Lori Lightfoot's Chicago
City sees yet another bloodbath resulting in more tragic deaths
Chicago saw yet another tragedy involving the death of a 5-year-old girl amid its escalating violence under Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot's watch.
The city saw another bloody weekend, which resulted in at least 49 people being shot, seven fatally.
The girl, Serenity Arrington, suffered multiple stab wounds and died after being rushed to the hospital, according to CBS Chicago.
Serenity's mother, 27-year-old Simone Austin, was charged with her death with first-degree murder, according to reports.

But the motive for the attack is still not clear.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a homicide investigation was also launched by police after the body of a woman with multiple stab wounds to her face and neck was retrieved Sunday morning from the Chicago River.
The woman was said to be in her mid-20s.
Chicago's gun violence began Friday when a 19-year-old man reportedly was shot in the back and chest.
The man was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
A 17-year-old was reportedly standing in an alley in a different part of the city and was approached by two men.
The teen was shot in the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene, NBC Chicago reported.
Another 17-year-old male was critically wounded in a drive-by attack in Englewood Sunday morning.
Later a 5-year-old was struck in the leg after being approached by a vehicle, according to police.
On Sunday, a 20-year-old died after being shot in the head.
Early Saturday, a 42-year-old man also died after being shot in the back at a gathering.
Last month, Neon Nettle reported Chicago saw a massive 139 percent increase in murders during July 2020 compared to July 2019, all underLightfoot's watch.
There have been 105 murders in July 2020, up from 44 reported in July 2019, according to ABC7.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported there were 406 “shooting incidents” during July 2020, an increase of 75 percent “from the 232 last July."
Murders in Chicago, over a longer period, were up 51 percent from January 1, 2020, through July 31, 2020, when compared to those reported in 2019.
