Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez salivates over report on investigation into the president's tax expenses

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) blasted President Donald Trump after the New York Times report allegedly detailing 20 years of his personal tax contributions.

The freshman New York lawmaker said Trump's payments were less than she paid while working as a bartender in New York City.

"In 2016 & ‘17, I paid thousands of dollars a year in taxes *as a bartender.* Trump paid $750," she tweeted.

"He contributed less to funding our communities than waitresses & undocumented immigrants."

AOC later pointed to a part of the Times's report, which said Trump had deducted numerous expenses.

"Last year Republicans blasted a firehose of hatred + vitriol my way because I treated myself to a $250 cut & lowlights on my birthday," she tweeted.

"Where’s the criticism of their idol spending $70k on hairstyling? Oh, it’s nowhere because they’re spineless, misogynistic hypocrites? Got it."

The information Ocasio-Cortez was salivating about was part of an investigation into the president's tax expenses and the extent of his business losses.

'The story is a total fake,' Trump said after he was asked about the story at a press conference.

On Sunday, Trump dismissed the story saying it was "fake news."

“The story is a total fake,” Trump said after he was asked about the story at a press conference.

“I’ve never seen anything like it; that’s why the media has such a low rating,” Trump continued.

Trump said that he “paid a lot” of taxes, including state income taxes in New York.

“The IRS does not treat me well,” Trump said.

“And they treat me like the Tea Party. They treat me very badly.”

He said his taxes would soon be released as a result of recent court decisions.

“I look forward to releasing that,” Trump added.
