'Liberal' Bette Midler Slammed for Mocking Melania Trump: 'She Can't Speak English'
Leftist actress faces backlash for xenophobic tweets
Leftist actress Bette Midler faced severe backlash after she mocked First Lady Melania Trump's accent during her speech at the Republican National Convention speech on Tuesday.
Mrs. Trump concluded the second night of the event.
The first lady closed the second night of the RNC from the Rose Garden at the White House, where she expressed her gratitude as an American along with her support for President Donald Trump's reelection.
But Midler wasn't impressed.
"Oh, God. She still can’t speak English," Midler tweeted during the speech.

The liberal actress then followed up:
"#beBest is back! A UGE bore! She can speak several words in a few languages. Get that illegal alien off the stage!"

But Midler's comments are false, as the first lady is a polyglot and speaks five different languages.
Alongside her native Slovenian, she speaks English, French, Italian, and German.
Midler also told the first lady:
"You are one lucky Slovenian! And after all that surgery, you hit a kind of horrible jackpot, chained to [a] colossal idiot."
Radio host Dana Loesch reacted, accusing Midler of xenophobia.

Failed comedian Kathy Griffin obviously couldn't resist attacking the first lady either.
"Seriously, f--- this b----" she said.
CNN political analyst and Playboy White House correspondent Brian Karem replied to Griffin:
"Makes me want to vomit."
Former NBA player Rex Chapman compared Melania's dress to Adolf Hitler.
Last week, a former New York Times reporter Kurt Eichenwald called Melania Trump a "foreigner" over the news of her newly-renovated Rose Garden.
“It is a destruction of our history, something no other First Lady would have had the gall to do,” Eichenwald tweeted.
“This is the first time I have been furious that @FLOTUS is a foreigner. She has no right to wreck our history.”
Eichenwald later issued an apology after deleting the tweet.
