CNN’s Chris Cuomo Accuses Trump of ‘Violating’ Kids With Coronavirus Statements
Anti-Trump host blast President but ignores his brother's disastrous response to pandemic
CNN host Chris Cuomo accused President Donald Trump of “violating” children with his statements regarding the coronavirus.
Cuomo argued that Trump was putting parents “in the position to expose” their kids to the virus.
But Cuomo ignored his brother, Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's disastrous response to the pandemic.
New York City “became the primary source of infections around the United States," NYT reported at the time.
In May, Gov. Cuomo himself admitted the majority of recent patients hospitalized with the coronavirus were obeying stay at home orders.
Meanwhile, CNN's Cuomo blasted Trump for saying, “for whatever reason, the China virus, children handle it very well.”
“Their immune systems are very, very strong,” Trump continued.
“They’re very powerful. And they – they seem to be able to handle it very well, and that’s according to every statistic.”
“Why would he lie to you about it? Why would he put you in the position to expose your kid that way?” Cuomo said.
“Facebook removed one of his videos from his personal page because of what he said on State TV this morning, making these same BS claims that kids are almost immune, because it violates their harmful COVID misinformation policy.”
“How is he able to live up to the standard that we demand right now?” Cuomo later added.
Cuomo's remarks came after Twitter locked the Trump campaign’s account over a clip containing what they deemed 'misinformation' about COVID-19.
|The “Fox & Friends” clip featured Trump saying children are “almost immune” from the virus.
The same excerpt was removed from Facebook earlier Wednesday.
Twitter spokesperson Liz Kelley told The Washington Post:
The tweet “is in violation of the Twitter Rules on COVID-19 misinformation."
“The account owner will be required to remove the tweet before they can tweet again.”
