Chicago Mayor Lightfoot 'Ready' To Stop Federal Agents Despite Another Bloody Weekend
Democrat-controlled city sees another weekend of shootings
The Democrat-run city of Chicago saw yet another bloody weekend after fifty-nine people were shot, three fatally, as Mayor Lori Lightfoot vowed she is "ready" to stop federal agents deployed to deal with violence.
On Sunday night, NBC 5 reported at least 49 people had been shot, two fatally.
By Monday morning, there was almost 60 shot with three fatalities, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The shootings, which are happening every weekend in Chicago, saw individuals were shot while standing in a gas station parking lot “in the 800 block of West 59th Street.”
Just 30 minutes later, a 19-year-old was shot and left in serious condition, while standing in a porch on West Cullerton.
The last fatal shooting occurred just before 1:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Mayor Lightfoot acknowledged President Donald Trump would be sending in federal agents to help curtail the gun violence.

The Democratic Chicago Mayor said she was ready to use the courts to stop the use of federal agents if there is an overreach by the Trump administration.
“I don’t put anything past this administration, which is why we will continue to be diligent and why we will continue to be ready."
"If we need to stop them and use the courts to do so, we are ready to do that.”
In June Lightfoot responded to Trump speaking out against violence in Democrat-controlled cities saying she didn't “need leadership lessons” from the president.
Lightfoot called for more gun control as a measure to stop violence in the city while refusing trump's help.
"We have way too many guns on the streets," the Mayor said.
Lightfoot also said it was Trump's failure to take action on gun reform legislation, which was to blame for the violence.
“We’re doing an all-hands-on-deck strategy, we’re really focussing on the root causes of the violence, but fundamentally we have too many illegal guns on our street, and that is a direct result of a failure of federal leadership,” she said.
