Kayleigh McEnany Torches Lightfoot, De Blasio: They've 'Lost Control' Of Their Cities
WH Press Secretary takes aim at Democratic Mayors
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany blasted Democratic mayors Bill De Blasio (New York) and Lori Lightfoot (Chicago), saying the leaders have “lost control” of their cities.
During a Tuesday appearance on “Hannity," the subject of the soaring gun violence in the Democratic-run cites was the main focus.
Host Sean Hannity introduced the press secretary saying he did not envy McEnany's job in the least:
“I don’t think you can pay me enough money to do that job,” he said.
As Hannity noted, Both New York City and Chicago have seen an explosion in violence and unrest since the death of George Floyd in May.
Hannity also took aim at Democratic Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, who described the autonomous zone in her city as “summer of love," saying mayors prefer bashing Trump than cleaning up their own cities.
“I don’t understand that,” Hannity said.
“That’s exactly right,” McEnany replied.
“Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago has lost control of her city. Bill de Blasio of New York City has lost control of his city," she noted.
"These Democrat governors have lost control of their streets, and there is human cost," McEnany added.
"We need to know their names, Sean.”
“At least in Missouri, you had a governor who came to the president and said, ‘Hey, I want federal help, whatever I can do to make sure what happened to LeGend Taliferro never happens again,” McEnany concluded.
“That’s what a responsible governor does," she added.
"But instead you have derelict mayors and Democrat streets, and children dying and it’s unacceptable, and this president will always stand up for those children, and that’s what I love so much about President Trump.”
Last week, Neon Nettle reported that a one-year-old baby was shot in the stomach during a cookout at a Brooklyn area park, New York.
In the same month, shootings spanning just over 90 minutes in New York City included an 11-year-old boy who was shot while playing outside of his home.
Another incident saw a father shot dead in front of his 6-year-old daughter during a public execution on the streets of the city.
Meanwhile, Neon Nettle reported that Chicago saw nearly 50 shootings and eight people dead under Mayor Lori Lightfoot's watch.
Among the victims were a 14-year-old boy, a 21-year-old man, and a 27-year-old woman.
But despite the violence, Lightfoot vowed to stop President Donald Trump sending in federal law enforcement officials.
Lightfoot said she would “use every tool” she has to prevent the federal government from sending in the police, similar to what happened in Portland.
