Democrat Seattle Mayor: White Men to Blame for Riots Across America
Jenny Durkan posts racist tweet amid riots in city
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, who is a Democrat, claimed that those responsible for the rioting and looting in her city and across America were "white men."
“I want to acknowledge that much of the violence and destruction, both here in Seattle and across the country, has been instigated and perpetuated by white men,” she tweeted.

“These individuals experience the height of privilege and are co-opting peaceful demonstrations that were organized by and meant to center people of color, particularly Black Americans,” she continued.

But what Durkan failed to mention is that there are peaceful protests by people of all colors.
The Mayor's tweet comes amid explosive protests following the death of George Floyd, a black man who died in Minneapolis who died in police custody.
Public unrest has grown, and many of the protests have turned violent.
Some have also accused undercover police officers of destroying commercial properties in Minneapolis
Last week, footage emerged of an unidentified man in a gas mask carrying an open umbrella who was filmed breaking store windows with a hammer.
But some protesters paused their demonstrations after noticing the odd actions of the man.
"Are you a f---ing cop?" someone yelled at the man, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Earlier this week, a black retired police captain was shot dead in St. Louis, Missouri, while attempting to protect his friend's store from being ransacked by looters.
Looters reportedly killed David Dorn on Tuesday after they had broken into his friend's pawn shop.
Mr. Dorn was found dead on the sidewalk in front of Lee's Pawn & Jewelry in the early hours.
The brutal murder occurred amid unrest that erupted from a peaceful protest over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump vowed to end the rioting and looting by the use of the military.
“I am your president of law and order and an ally of all peaceful protesters," Trump declared, before ordering governors across the nation to deploy the National Guard "in sufficient numbers that we dominate the streets."
He then sent a warning to states that, if they refused, he would deploy the United States military “and quickly solve the problem for them.”
