Whitmer Silent After Video of Elderly Man Beaten at Michigan Nursing Home Goes Viral
Michigan Governor fails to respond after disturbing video

Following the surfacing of a disturbing video that showed an elderly man being beaten in a care home in Detroit, Michigan, law enforcement officials have arrested a man as governor Gretchen Whitmer remains silent.
According to a police statement, a 20-year-old man is being held in connection with the assault on Detroit’s west side, The Detroit News reported.
The viral video, which was shared by concerned citizens, shows the 75-year-old male victim being beaten in a nursing home located in the 16500 block of Schaefer.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig said:
"The nursing home was unaware of the assault until they saw the video."
"We are still investigating that aspect of the case, but we do have a suspect in custody.”

Governor Whitmer has not made any statements following the attack, despite the video being shared widely online since early this week.
But Whitmer, who is reportedly being considered as a potential vice president pick for Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden, still had time to get custom political t-shirts to promote herself on Comedy Central.
The Michigan Governor is facing a similar scandal as New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo over her coronavirus nursing home policy, which ordered nursing homes to accept coronavirus patients.
The Detroit News Editorial Board wrote:
Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer struggled to defend her administration on Wednesday when she was grilled over a scandal involving who was responsible for awarding taxpayer-funded coronavirus relief money to Democrat organizations and operatives.
Whitmer rushed to cancel the contracts on Tuesday after information surfaced online about who the entities were who were going to receive the funds.
When asked during a press conference on Wednesday about who was responsible for selecting the partisan organizations, Whitmer refused to answer and had to repeatedly look down at her notes.

Earlier this month, Whitmer faced backslash for her targeting of an elderly barber amid her widely criticized coronavirus lockdown orders.
Karl Manke had his license to trade revoked but vowed not to be slowed down.
Following being turned down for unemployment handouts, Manke reopened his shop.
After the barber received a barrage of legal threats from Whitmer’s administration, he said:
“What are they going to give me? Life? I’ve got one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. I could care less.”
“As long as I have two hands and I’m capable of cutting hair, that’s my occupation,” Manke said.
