John Kerry’s Security Chief Arrested for Raping 10-Year-Old
J. Scott Moretti oversaw former secretary of state's security detail until 2015

John Kerry's former head of security has been arrested for repeatedly raping a ten-year-old child, according to reports.
58-year-old J. Scott Moretti, who worked as Democratic former Secretary of State Kerry's security detail chief from January 2013 to April 2015, was arrested last week in Prince William County and charged with sexually abusing a young child between 2011 and 2013.
Moretti was also a former deputy assistant secretary of the State Department, who oversaw diplomatic security training until 2018, according to his LinkedIn page and an archived State Department biography.
He joined the Diplomatic Security Service in 1986 climbed up the ranks to deputy assistant secretary of state in 2015.
The alleged victim filed a complaint with Prince William County police in September and told them she had been sexually assaulted at a residence in the Manassas area when she was between 10 and 11 years old, sometime between November 2011 and November 2013.
The woman told police the incidents had happened on more than one occasion.

Prince William police spokesman, Sgt. Jonathan Perok, said the complainant was not a family member of Moretti’s.
According to News Thud, the former special agent has been jailed without bond on charges of sexually assaulting the young girl.
Moretti was arrested last Tuesday after special victims detectives concluded an investigation into the sexual assault of the unidentified girl, said Prince William County police spokeswoman Renee Carr.
The victim knows Moretti and reported the incidents to police in September 2019.
Moretti is charged with indecent liberties and forcible sodomy, Carr said.

Until 2018, Moretti was the state department's Deputy Assistant Secretary and Assistant Director for Training for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
He took the post in July 2015 and directed antiterrorism assistance training and delivery of related equipment to security and law-enforcement personnel in partner nations, the state department website says.
Prior to that assignment, Moretti was the special agent in charge of Diplomatic Security’s Washington Field Office.
From January 2013 to April 2015, he served as the special agent in charge of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s protective detail.
Moretti was arrested by state police in Prince William County on Tuesday and is being held at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail without bond.
