Pelosi Vows to Block Payroll Tax Cut in Next Coronavirus Stimulus Bill
House Speaker appeared on CNN’s 'Situation Room' to talk about the bill

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she is against including a payroll tax cut in the next coronavirus relief bill.
Pelosi appeared on CNN’s 'Situation Room' to talk about the bill.
Host Wolf Blitzer asked the House Speaker:
“So, is a payroll tax cut okay from your point of view?”
Pelosi responded:
“No, it is not.”
“First of all, this is all to be related to the coronavirus. We have enormous, enormous costs, much of it incurred because the president was in denial early on, delayed a reaction to it, caused deaths," Pelosi added.
"And so, now, we want to say, okay, that was then," she continued.

"Alright, let’s start now and do things in a positive way. Nobody’s putting anything on the table saying, unless we have this, we’re not doing that. He shouldn’t either.”
The House Speaker later refused to say if she would accept a payroll tax cut in exchange for concessions the Democrats are requesting.

Earlier this month, Pelosi said they are looking at including families with illegal alien members to be included in the next bill.
Responding to a question about US citizens who are married to undocumented immigrants, the House Speaker said she has been “working” to make the tax identification on how people would receive direct payments from the government.

Democrats introduced a bill to grant stimulus money for illegal aliens in April.
President Donald Trump last month said the reason stimulus checks would not be given to illegal aliens was that they "came in illegally."
“Well, you know, you are saying undocumented, meaning they came in illegally,” Trump said.
"It’s a very sad question, I must be honest with you,” Trump added.
"But they came in illegally, and we have a lot of people that are citizens in our country that won’t be able to have jobs."
Last month Pelosi stalled Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding meant to help small businesses, later pushing her 'wish list' for the next bill, which included things like allowing voting by mail.
