Trump Endorses Ilhan Omar's GOP Challenger: 'Omar is a Disaster'
President shreds radical Democrat rep while endorsing Lacy Johnson for Congress
President Donald Trump has given his public endorsement to a Republican challenger to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) seat in Congress.
The president endorsed Minneapolis businessman Lacy Johnson for his 2020 run against radical "Squad" member Omar.
Johnson is running as a conservative to unseat Rep. Omar from her spot representing Minnesota's 5th Congressional District.
Trump took to Twitter Monday morning to show his support for Johnson's bid.
"And I’m Endorsing you also Lacy, you truly deserve it," Trump tweeted, adding, "You are doing a great job."
While endorsing Johnson, however, the president also shredded Omar.
"Omar is a disaster who wants much higher taxes, hates our Military & our Vets, demands Open Borders, and is fighting to take away our great 2nd Amendment," Trump said as he blasted Johnson's Democratic rival.

Lacy Johnson has been promoting himself as a commonsense conservative who will "fight against radical-leftist Ilhan Omar," according to News Thud.
"The media will not expose her, only we can show the people of our district the truth," the Johnson campaign says in fundraising messages.
"Radical left-wing policies will continue to fail major cities across America."
The GOP also endorsed Johnson, who promises to give "100% support of President’s Trump economic policies and record-breaking results that leave no community behind as the policies of previous administration."
Trump has routinely criticized Omar and the three other members of "the Squad" of liberal congresswomen who have emerged as leading voices in the Democratic Party.
The president set off a firestorm last year when he told members of the Squad to "go back" to the countries they came from and suggested they do not appreciate traditional American values.
“So interesting to see ‘Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world,” Trump said.
"Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.
"Then come back and show us how it is done.”
Democrats have held Minnesota's highly urban 5th Congressional District since 1963.
Omar is up for reelection this fall when Trump will be on the Republican ticket for the general election.
Trump was the first Republican presidential candidate to flip Minnesota red since George W. Bush in 2004.
