Pelosi: Democrats Will Discuss Including Illegal Aliens On Next Stimulus Bill
House Speaker weighs in on taxpayer-funded coronavirus relief package

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested that Democratic leaders in Congress are now looking at including families with illegal alien members to be included in the next taxpayer-funded coronavirus relief package.
Speaking during a press briefing on Thursday, the Speaker of the House responded to a question about unemployed immigrants and US citizens who are married to undocumented immigrants.
The aid package passed by Congress in March stated that those groups do not qualify.
Pelosi responded, saying she has been “working” to make the tax identification on how people would receive direct payments from the government.
“All of it, though, speaks to the fact that we are well served if we recognize that everybody in our country is part of our community and helping to grow the economy,” Pelosi said.

“Most of what we’re doing is to meet the needs of people, but it’s all stimulus.”
“What we said was we want to address the mixed family issue," she added.
"We are supposed to have a call on that tomorrow,” Pelosi continued.
The House Speaker added she wanted to “expand outreach opportunities” to nonprofit organizations that are assisting those who don’t otherwise qualify for stimulus money.
Democrats have made eligibility requirements a point of discussion since Congress passed the CARES Act in March.
The legislation allows direct cash payments to those who file taxes with a Social Security number.
Many U.S. citizens who filed taxes with an illegal alien spouse did not receive a stimulus check from the federal government.

“I myself cannot understand why the tax number is not the basis for how some of this money is distributed, so we’ll be making that case as well,” Pelosi said Thursday.
In April, Democrats introduced a bill to give stimulus money to illegal aliens.
Several House Dems introduced the legislation that would grant illegal immigrants access to funds from the coronavirus relief package, if signed into law.
Last month, President Donald Trump said the reason illegal aliens living in America won't receive coronavirus stimulus checks from the U.S. Government is actually quite simple: "They came in illegally."
Trump faced criticism from the left after it was announced that only American citizens and legal immigrants would qualify for the payouts.
Illegal aliens are not eligible for relief payments, according to the bill,
The checks are generally $1,200 for those who file taxes as individuals and $2,400 for those who file jointly.
