Trump Blasts CNN for Not Covering Flynn Story: ‘They Should Pay a Big Price’
Explosive court documents were unsealed by the Department of Justice

President Donald Trump took aim at CNN on Wednesday for not reporting on an explosive development on former national security adviser Michael Flynn's case.
Court documents were unsealed by the Department of Justice, revealing the FBI questioned whether they should have used Fynn's interview to "get him fired" and to “get him to lie.”
Trump tweeted on CNN's lack of reporting on the story:
“@CNN doesn’t want to speak about their persecution of General Michael Flynn & why they got the story so wrong."
“They, along with others, should pay a big price for what they have purposely done to this man & his family. They won’t even cover the big breaking news about this scam!”

The President also slammed CNN over an earlier report that claimed that Trump had blown up at campaign manager Brad Parscale.
Trump tweeted:
“Just told that Fake News @CNN is falsely reporting that I was recently shouting at my campaign manager over made up nonsense. Actually, he is doing a great job, I never shouted at him (been with me for years, including the 2016 win), & have no intention to do so. Just FAKE NEWS!”

As Neon Nettle reported:
The notes were taken from a meeting where the FBI's top brass discussed their motivations for interviewing then-top Trump Administration official Flynn in the White House in January 2017.
The handwritten notes were written by the FBI's former head of counterintelligence Bill Priestap and were taken from a meeting with then-FBI Director James Comey and then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

Catherine Herridge at CBS News noted additional communications that were unsealed by the DOJ:
“FLYNN docs just unsealed, including emails between former FBI agent Strzok, former FBI lawyer Page and name REDACTED. Timing: Day before Flynn FBI interview 1/24/2017 Discuss how to warn Flynn lying to federal agents violation 18 USC 1001 — ‘casually slip that in'”

As Neon Nettle reported last year, former FBI Director James Comey admitted the interview didn't follow standard protocol.

Unsealed FBI notes reveal the intent of the FBI’s 1/24/17 interview of Flynn:
“What is our goal? Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute [Flynn] or get him fired?”
FBI Notes confirm it was all a pretext. pic.twitter.com/Y4IDyE4YZm
Comey went on to acknowledge the way the interview was set up – not through the White House counsel’s office, but arranged directly with Flynn – was not standard practice. He called it “something I probably wouldn't have done or maybe gotten away with in a more … organized administration.”
Also conducting Flynn’s interview was Peter Strzok, who was later fired for anti-Trump text messages.
