Progressives Calling for Joe Biden to 'Drop Out' Over Sexual Assault Allegation
#MeToo supporters ramp up pressure as #DropOutBiden trends on social media

Progressives and #MeToo movement supporters are calling on Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race over recent allegations of a vicious sexual assault against the former vice president.
Early on Saturday morning, the hashtag #DropOutBiden started trending on Twitter and continued throughout the day.
The trend is being fueled in part by many on the left who are now calling on Biden to end his 2020 campaign.
Supporters of Biden responded by trying to blame the hashtag on Russian bots.
However, there were several prominent progressives who were using the hashtag, such as former Hillary Clinton adviser Peter Daou.
Daou cited recent allegations from Biden's former staffer Tara Reade, who says she was sexually assaulted by the then-Delaware senator when she worked for him in 1993.

"Credible rape accusations are disqualifying or we have NO moral standards," Daou argued on Twitter.
DIFFICULT THREAD -- #BIDEN SHOULD WITHDRAW

1. I respect the will of the voters.
2. But new information has emerged supporting #TaraReade's account of being sexually assaulted by #JoeBiden.
3. Credible rape accusations are disqualifying or we have NO moral standards.
A number of those tweeting the hashtag seemingly included supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
As the day wore on, prominent conservative figures and pundits also began tweeting it.
The hashtag coincided with the emergence of an alleged video clip of Biden accuser Tara Reade’s mother.

As Neon Nettle previously reported, new evidence has emerged that appears to support allegations of a serious sexual assault made against former Biden by his ex-staffer Reade.
Reade recently came forward to accuse Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993 when she worked for the then-Delaware senator.
She recently told a journalist that her mother called CNN's "Larry King Live" around the time of the alleged incident.
Reade's mother was asking for advice on where to report that her daughter had been "sexually harassed and retaliated against and fired."
Now, a tape of the purported call has been unearthed, and Reade says that it is her mother's voice.
#BREAKING: HERE is the video from August 11,1993's 'Larry King Live' described by @TheIntercept (and Tara Reade) as allegedly featuring her mother calling in and alluding to Reade's sexual assault claims against @JoeBiden (blog here by @ScottJW) https://t.co/fCgEqBnX7n pic.twitter.com/V5FGHskv56

In a telephone interview with Fox News on Friday night, Reade confirmed that her mother called in to the show.
The audio supports the "credibility of Reade's allegation against" the former vice president, according to The Intercept, which reported the new evidence.
