Pelosi: Next Stimulus Will Have 'Chunk of Money' to Pay for Vote By Mail
House Speaker want to 'enable the American people' to vote by mail

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said a “chunk of money” will be assigned for the American people to vote by mail in the next coronavirus stimulus bill.
Speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe" on Wednesday, the House Speaker was also asked about Senate Intelligence Committee confirming U.S. intelligence agencies concluding that Russia interfered with the election in 2016:
“Well, I’m not surprised," Pelosi said.
"As a member of the Gang of Eight, I watched this whole investigation proceed.”
"That is why we have to have an important chunk of money in this next bill that will enable us to protect the integrity of our elections, as well as enable the American people to vote by mail, especially at this time of a health danger in going to the polls.”
Pelosi continued:
“It leads you to the question about what does Vladimir Putin have on President Trump personally, politically, financially, in every way?”

She added:
“No matter what the president says, it cannot be denied."
"But it takes us to the next step. They have also told us 24/7 the Russians are still at work trying to undermine our election."
She concluded:
“This is the lifeblood of our democracy, the vote."
"So here we are trying to protect the lives of American people, the livelihoods of the American people, and also the life of our democracy. That is what we are going to do in the next bill as well.”

As Bloomberg reported, Pelosi said a “major package” of aid for state and local government will be in the next stimulus legislation.
But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has urged a slowdown in doling out federal help.
“Now we have to go further to help state and local” governments, Pelosi while failing to put a price tag on the aid.
The Democrats' push for Vote By Mail
Earlier this month, Former First Lady Michelle Obama threw her support behind her voting rights group, When We All Vote, to expand vote-by-mail options.

The new legislation would allow voters to vote by absentee ballot, making it easier for voters to obtain mail-in ballots.
Hillary Clinton also called for voting reform and backed the push for voting by mail.
Clinton said America needed to “act now” to guarantee citizens can “safely cast a ballot in November."
“GOP officials and conservative jurists forced Wisconsin voters yesterday to choose between risking their lives to vote and being disenfranchised. It’s unconscionable,” she said.
“We need to act now to make sure every citizen can safely cast a ballot in November,” she added:
Left-wing groups funded by billionaire George Soros are also pushing for the mail-in voting ahead of this year's elections.
The groups claim the COVID-19 pandemic would make it too dangerous for the public to vote in person.
President Donald Trump blasted the Democrats' push for voting by mail.
Trump tweeted:
"Mail ballots — they cheat. Okay? People cheat. Mail ballots are a very dangerous thing for this country ’cause there’re cheaters. They go and collect them. They’re fraudulent in many cases."
