Michelle Obama Backs Democrat Push for Mail-In Voting
Former First Lady pushes for absentee voting

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is putting her support behind her voting rights group, When We All Vote, to expand vote-by-mail options, according to reports
Obama's group is now endorsing federal legislation for the first time.
The former first lady's celebrity-backed organization is set to announce the support for legislation introduced by a handful of Democratic lawmakers during the coronavirus crisis, Axios reported.
The new legislation allows registered voters to vote by absentee ballot, which makes it easier for voters to obtain mail-in ballots.
The group encourages U.S. citizens to press their lawmakers to push their lawmakers to expand access to vote-by-mail.

Obama said in a statement:
"There is nothing partisan about striving to live up to the promise of our country, making the democracy we all cherish more accessible, and protecting our neighbors, friends, and loved ones as they participate in this cornerstone of American life."
Board chairwoman of When We All Vote, Valerie Jarrett, said:
“It was just deeply, profoundly concerning."
"Our goal is to just try to make sure we maximize the number of citizens who can participate in that most fundamental and important responsibility,” she added.
Last week, Hillary Clinton called for voting reform as members of her party actively pursue universal mail-in voting.
Today, Wisconsin voters had to choose between making their voice heard and keeping themselves and their family safe. No American should ever have to make that choice.

Clinton said the United States needs to “act now” to ensure citizens can “safely cast a ballot in November."
“GOP officials and conservative jurists forced Wisconsin voters yesterday to choose between risking their lives to vote and being disenfranchised. It’s unconscionable,” she said.
“We need to act now to make sure every citizen can safely cast a ballot in November,” she added
Several George Soros funded groups are also pushing for the mail-in voting ahead of this year's elections.
Neon Nettle reported Soros' organizations are on the front lines of a campaign to introduce a “vote by mail” system in the upcoming presidential election.
The groups claim the COVID-19 pandemic makes it too risky for the public to vote in person.
