The White House blasted CNN and MSNBC for cutting away from the Trump administration's daily coronavirus task force briefing, describing the actions of the news outlets as "disgraceful."

White House spokesman Judd Deere tweeted:

"Pretty disgraceful that @CNN and @MSNBC have both cut away from this @WhiteHouse briefing with @realDonaldTrump and @Mike_Pence during a global pandemic. Thank you to @FoxNews for keeping Americans informed. #COVID19."

A CNN spokesperson responded to Deere's tweet saying:

"If the White House wants to ask for time on the network, they should make an official request. Otherwise we will make our own editorial decisions."

According to The Hill, MSNBC did not immediately respond for comment.

During the coronavirus task force briefing on Monday, MSNBC's "Morning Joe" host, Joe Scarborough, tweeted:

"There is no public benefit to this briefing. The networks should all cut away."

The outlets faced backlash for their obvious bias towards the Trump administration amid the deadly coronavirus outbreak.

On Monday, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow called for the briefings to be pulled off the air.

The media briefings give essential information directly to the public from top agency doctors and emergency officials.

But Maddow has demanded they “Stop!”

She accused Trump on Friday of “lying” at his daily briefings and even suggested his words could kill people.

"If he keeps lying like he has been every day on stuff this important, we should -- all of us – should stop broadcasting it. Honestly, it’s going to cost lives," Maddow said.

Last week, MSNBC analyst Glenn Kirschner called for Trump to be charged with "homicide" over his response to the deadly coronavirus outbreak.

Former prosecutor Glenn Kirschner, a legal analyst for MSNBC and NBC, suggested Tuesday that President Donald Trump should be investigated for homicide for his handling of the Chinese virus pandemic.
