Ocasio-Cortez's comments come after Trump accused Democratic Party leaders of working to block Sanders

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she has “been concerned” about Democrats not wanting to support Sen. Bernie Sanders if he wins the party’s presidential nomination.

AOC, who officially endorsed Sanders last year, expressed her concern during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

“I think it’s a two-way street,” Ocasio-Cortez told Meyers.

“I’ve been concerned by some folks that say if Bernie’s the nominee, they won’t support him — and the other way around.”

Ocasio-Cortez's comments come after Trump accused Democratic Party leaders of working to block Sanders from being the party’s standard-bearer in November.

Trump said it would be possible that Sanders could face him in the general election, “unless they cheat him out of it,” referring to Democrats.

Ocasio-Cortez then praised Elizabeth Warren for running “a historic candidacy," in what appeared to be an attempt to sway Warren to the Sanders camp.

"She's a champion, and I think that she ran an absolutely stunning, incredible race," Ocasio-Cortez told Meyers.

“It is going to be now and in November, I believe, the turnout of young people that will have a huge determination in our future as a country,” she said, according to The Daily Beast.

“And this is an enormous responsibility. And we’ve got to really, really turn up or else—you get what you fight for," she added.

"And you get what you vote for. And I think it’s so incredibly important that we fight for a future that will work for us.”

Sanders admitted he would drop if former Vice President Joe Biden has the majority of pledged delegates

On Thursday, AOC argued that a brokered convention to decide the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee would risk putting whoever is picked at a disadvantage.

“I hope just for the sake of the party overall that this does not get to a brokered convention," AOC told CNN on Wednesday

“I think that hurts the nominee, whoever the nominee is."

Yesterday, Sanders admitted he would drop if former Vice President Joe Biden has the majority of pledged delegates ahead of the Democratic National Convention.

"Of course, I’m gonna drop out; he will win," Sanders told MSNBC's, Rachel Maddow.

Biden, who has since gained endorsement from Presidential candidate dropouts like Mike Bloomberg and Pete Buttigieg, gained traction during Super Tuesday.
