On Tuesday, President Donald Trump donated his entire quarterly salary - $100,000 - to help combat the deadly coronavirus by directing funds to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

But unsurprisingly, liberals were not too pleased with Trump's gesture, some responded by comparing the President to Hitler.

“Hitler never took a salary,” posted Mike P. Williams.

“Now show his tax returns and document the millions he’s rinsed the tax payer for in terms of staying at his own properties, golf carts, and security for Eric.”

Crooked Media host Akilah Hughes argued, “This pays for tests for less than 50 people.”

Left-wing writer Thor Benson was not too happy either:

“How do we get back the hundreds of millions he’s wasted golfing,” said left-wing writer Thor Benson.

“This will really make up for the global pandemic Obama programs Trump dismantled, his defunding of pandemic response, bungled test kits, and golf outings that have cost more than 334 years of presidential salaries,” Sarah Reese Jones, writer at PoliticusUSA said.

Tyler Cohen of Occupy Democrats posted:

“Cool now do all of Trump’s golf trips using taxpayer funds."

Vox’s Aaron Rupar didn't like Trump's gesture either:

“REMINDER: Trump’s salary is a drop in the bucket compared to the money businesses, politicians, and foreign governments are funneling into properties he still owns and profits from while in office,” he wrote.

Liberal Singer Kelly Mantle went as far to say Trump didn't even donate the money:

“Trump’s [press secretary] is trying to convince us that [Donald Trump] is donating his salary to fight Coronavirus. But the check is dated 01/29/20?”

“They’re so stupid,” she added.

This isn't the first time Trump donated his salary, though.

Last year, Trump donated third-quarter presidential salary to help fight the opioid crisis.

The president gave $100,000 to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health; the money is what he would have been paid in the third quarter.

Before Trump took office, he vowed to donate his presidential salary, another promise he has kept.

Trump has since announced travel bans to Iran and parts of South Korea and Italy to help contain the coronavirus.

“There is no reason to panic at all,” the president said.

“Our country is prepared for any circumstance.”

“Healthy individuals should be able to fully recover, and we think that will be a statement that we can make with great surety now that we’ve gotten familiar with this problem,” Trump added.

“They should be able to recover should they contract the virus. So healthy people, if you’re healthy, you will probably go through a process, and you’ll be fine.”
