Trump: Buttigieg Ending Campaign 'Is a Sign' of Dems Trying to Stop Bernie Sanders
President sounds alarm for possible democratic 'sabotage' of Bernie

Just moments after former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg announced he was bowing out of the Democratic presidential race, President Donald Trump said it was a sign of Democrats attempting to blunt the rise of progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
Trump tweeted:
"Pete Buttigieg is OUT. All of his SuperTuesday votes will to Sleepy Joe Biden. Great timing. This is the REAL beginning of the Dems taking Bernie out of play - NO NOMINATION, AGAIN!"
Buttigieg's abrupt withdrawal from his presidential campaign comes days before voters in 14 states are set to head to the polls on Super Tuesday, where one-third of all delegates for the nomination will be at stake.
Buttigieg's exit will likely harm Sanders by providing a boost to more moderate candidates.
Sanders’ delegate lead over Joe Biden has plummeted from 30 to 8 after Biden’s big win in the South Carolina primary.

The former vice president picked up 35 to Sanders’ 13, according to The Associated Press delegate count.
Sanders has led the overall race for delegates with 58 while Biden had 50. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., had eight, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., had 7.
It takes 1,991 delegates to win.
Last year, Robert De Niro touted Buttigieg as capable of winning the White House in 2020.
“Buttigieg, I like a lot,” De Niro said, according to The Daily Beast.

He’s got all the credentials—Rhodes Scholar, Afghanistan veteran—even though he’s young, and if he could get a chance, it could be something special, I think.”
During Buttigieg's speech announcing the suspension of his campaign, the crowd started chanting “2024! 2024!”
WaPo reporter Amy Wang wrote on Twitter:
Buttigieg says he will do “everything in my power to make sure there is a new Democratic president come January.”
The crowd begins chanting, “2024! 2024!” which is a little odd because that would presume a Dem doesn’t win in November?
