Cuba has praised socialist presidential candidate Bernie Sanders for his recent endorsement of the communist nation.

The Communist Party newspaper, Granma, gave Sanders a feature and praised him for ‘some of the social programs implemented by the history,' The Miami Herald reported.

The newspaper also added Sanders seemed ‘unstoppable’ in his move toward the Democratic nomination.

Other state media outlets reported on Sanders' recent comments in an interview with Anderson Cooper for ’60 minutes.’

The Vermont senator said it was ‘unfair’ to say that ‘everything is bad’ in Cuba.

The report notes that Sanders recognized the role of Cuba in sending ‘doctors all over the world’ - another Castro initiative.

The newspaper then blasted Americans who had escaped the communist nation, adding that Sanders’ “comments sparked the anger of the most extremist sector of Cuban-Americans in South Florida, who oppose any rapprochement with the Caribbean island.”

Just days after Sanders praised Cuban dictator Fidel Castro’s “massive literacy program," he doubled down by claiming Communist China took “more people out of extreme poverty than any country in history.”

“I happen to believe in democracy, not authoritarianism. But you know, you can take China as another example," Sanders said.

"China is an authoritarian country becoming more and more authoritarian," he added.

"But can anyone deny, I mean the facts are clear, that they have taken more people out of extreme poverty than any country in history. Do I get criticized because I say that?"

"That’s the truth. So that is a fact. End of discussion.”

Former New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg tweeted a response to Sanders comments:

“Fidel Castro left a dark legacy of forced labor camps, religious repression, widespread poverty, firing squads, and the murder of thousands of his own people."

Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Ind., tweeted:

"After four years of looking on in horror as Trump cozied up to dictators, we need a president who will be extremely clear in standing against regimes that violate human rights abroad.

"We can’t risk nominating someone who doesn’t recognize this.”
