Biden Calls For Banning Nearly All Firearms: 'I've Done it Once Already'
Presidential candidate calls for banning semi-automatic firearms
Former Vice President Joe Biden called for banning semi-automatic firearms and “clips that have multiple bullets in them,” during a CNN town hall event on Thursday.
The extreme proposal would effectively ban nearly all firearms.
“I’m going to do everything in my power in office or out of office to get those assault weapons off the street, which I have done once already,” Biden claimed.
“And to get those clips that have multiple bullets in them, not for sale, not be able to sell silencers, all those things.”
Last year, Biden gave AR-15 owners an ultimatum to surrender their rifles or register them with the government.
The plan would also apply to AK-47s, variants of both rifles, and other firearms that have been labeled as “assault weapons."
The surrender or register option would also apply to “high capacity” magazines.
“The idea that we don’t have elimination of assault-type weapons, magazines that can hold multiple bullets in them, it’s absolutely mindless," Biden said.
“It’s no violation of the Second Amendment,” Biden falsely claimed.
The Presidential candidate later said there should be no compromise with the Republicans when it came to his radical anti-Second Amendment proposals.
“None,” Biden stated.
“None on this. I think this is no compromise. This is one we have to just push, and push, and push, and push, and push.”

In May last year, Biden claimed that the Second Amendment doesn't say that Americans are "entitled" to own guns.
He then admitted that the “Second Amendment exists” but argued that it doesn't say that Americans are “entitled” to own a gun.
“By the way, if one of you left the keys in your car down the street, and a kid comes along and jumps in it and takes off, you could be held liable civilly for that," Biden explained.
Biden earlier this month also called for a "rational" gun ban in America, arguing that weapons such as AK-47s couldn't protect citizens from a tyrannical government.
The Democrat said that having “rational policy” on guns means making sure that people can’t have “50 clips in a weapon.”
Biden also warned that a person would need a lot more than an AK-47 to take on a government while calling for the firearms to be banned.
