Nancy Pelosi's ‘Impeachment Pens' Could Fetch Up To $1.5M, Auctioneers Claim
Pens could fetch $50,000 each at auction despite costing just $20
Maryland-based Alexander Historical Auctions claimed the 30 black and gold pens used to sign the articles of impeachment against President Trump could fetch up to $1.5 million, despite only costing $20 each.
“There’s nothing like them,” said Alexander boss Bill Panagopulos.
Alexander is an internationally-known online auctioneer specializing in historical artifacts and autographs.
Similar to what presidents do when signing significant legislation, the House Speaker used a different pen for every stroke of her signature.
Alexandra added that the pen's value would increase if Trump were convicted.
Pelosi was accused of rejoicing and celebrating when she signed a resolution to transmit two articles of impeachment against Trump to the Senate for trial.
Speaker Pelosi drew criticism for signing the documents with gold commemorative pens - with her name on them - which she then handed out to Democrats as souvenirs to celebrate the occasion.
Critics slammed Pelosi and other anti-Trump Democrats, saying the tone of the event seemed celebratory.
Nancy Pelosi’s souvenir pens served up on silver platters to sign the sham articles of impeachment,” White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham tweeted in response.

“She was so somber as she gave them away to people like prizes.”
Weeks later, Trump took a hilarious swipe at Pelosi during the historic USMCA trade deal signing - by handing out commemorative pens.
The president was met with laughter as he handed out pens from a box after signing the deal.
"You know what you hand out pens for? Accomplishments. Like, say, signing a historic trade deal with China," Elizabeth Harrington, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, tweeted back then in response to Pelosi's gesture.
"So it's fitting that Democrats are handing out pens for their sole accomplishment: impeachment," she said.
"Democrats have done NOTHING for the American people."
