Barbra Streisand: Adam Schiff 'Would Make a Great President, He Speaks The Truth'
Liberal singer praises partisan lawmaker amid impeachment
Liberal pop singer Barbra Streisand has claimed House Intelligence Chairman and impeachment manager Adam Schiff “would make a great president.”
As the Democrats' impeachment efforts look set to come to a grinding halt after Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski came out against calling additional witnesses, the singer seems somewhat oblivious to the facts.
“Adam Schiff is so impressive," Streisand began.
"His knowledge of the law… his passion… his articulateness. His sincerity!” Streisand declared as she showered the partisan lawmaker with praise.
“He speaks the truth and would make a great president.”
But the singer is in the minority because, according to YouGov data, only 27 percent of America has a favorable opinion of Democrat Rep. Schiff.
The same polling outfit additionally reports that President Trump’s approval among Americans sits at 39 percent.
Streisand last month said, “impeachment is the sober process envisioned by the Founders to counter such a threat” as President Trump.
“From his blatant attempt to extort Ukraine using taxpayer money for a fake investigation of his political rival, there is a question that Trump aspires to be a despot, and impeachment is the sober process envisioned by the Founders to counter such a threat,” Streisand said.
In contrast to Streisand's gushing remarks about Schiff, Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich branded the lawmaker as "deranged" and a "pathological liar," while calling for the anti-Trump Democrat to be removed from his role as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
Gingrich said Schiff is “a compulsive, uncontrollable liar” who is less credible than the Steele dossier.

The cited dossier is the discredited document compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele that salaciously alleges wrongdoing by President Donald Trump and his 2016 election campaign team.
Earlier in the week, Trump shredded Schiff during his a campaign rally in Des Moines, Iowa, calling him “sick,” “crazy,” and “shifty” as the crowd cheered.
“He lies awake at night shifting and turning, shifty, shifting and turning in his bed, sweating like a dog,” Trump said.
In October last year, Streisand shared a cartoon depicting her president being murdered by Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, much to the sock of her followers.
Streisand tweeted the gruesome drawing in an apparent attempt to express her displeasure with Trump during his ongoing feud with Pelosi.
The cartoon shows a massive pair of high heels, including one labeled "Pelosi."
