Adam Schiff Accuses Trump of ‘Personally Threatening’ Him with Tweet
Trump calls Impeachment manager a 'CORRUPT POLITICIAN' in tweet
House impeachment manager Adam Schiff accused President Donald Trump of 'threatening him' in a tweet which said the House Intelligence Committee chairman would “pay a price" for his impeachment efforts.
The president tweeted that Schiff was a “CORRUPT POLITICIAN” before adding he had not yet “paid the price" for impeachment.
But just two weeks ago, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi used the same phrase saying Senate Republicans would “pay a price” if they chose not to call witnesses in Trump’s impeachment trial.
"Shifty Adam Schiff is a CORRUPT POLITICIAN, and probably a very sick man. He has not paid the price, yet, for what he has done to our Country!"
Schiff said he believes Trump's tweet was intended to threaten him during an interview with Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press."
Schiff described Trump's tweet as “organized crime speak” and questioned why others had not denounced it.
“I don’t think there’s really much doubt that he wants to at least give the suggestion the retribution should be of a kind other than at the ballot box,” Schiff stated.
“This is, you know, the president’s organized crime speak," he added.
"And that people would tolerate that or not condemn that in a president just shows how this president has brought down the stature of his office and debased the public discourse.”
Host Alisyn Camerota asked Schiff if he meant the tweet was a threat to his personal safety:
“I think it’s intended to be personally threatening,” Schiff replied.

“I think that’s exactly what the president has in mind," he continued.
"And you know, the fact that he would even leave it ambiguous tells you that this is a president, who we know, has tried to intimidate witnesses and tried to discourage other people from coming forward, like the whistleblower," he added.
"So sadly, this is you know, part and parcel of the kind of conduct we’ve seen from this president.”
Trump's lawyers have accused Schiff and House Democrats of covering up crucial evidence that is not in line with their anti-Trump agenda.
According to President Trump's legal team, Democrats repealed concealed "potentially exculpatory" testimony of a significant witness who was questioned by the House during its investigation into the Ukraine issue.
Schiff has been accused of intentionally hiding evidence that is "not helpful" to himself or that conflicts with the story of his anti-Trump "whistleblower."
House Democrats are refusing to disclose the testimony of Michael Atkinson, the Washington Times reported.
