White House Counsel Pat Cipollone Shreds Nadler: You ‘Should Be Embarrassed’
Democratic New York Rep faces grilling during Senat trial
White House counsel Pat Cipollone blasted House impeachment manager, Democratic New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, during the Senate trial on Wednesday.
Cipollone, who is a member of President Donald Trump's legal team, called out Nadler for the way he conducted himself in the Senate, saying he “should be embarrassed."
Nadler had accused Trump’s defense team, and Senate Republicans of being part of “cover-up" shortly before Cipollone called him out.
“We’ve been respectful of the Senate, we’ve made our arguments to you," Cipollone said
"You don’t deserve, and we don’t deserve what just happened,” Cipollone added.
“Mr. Nadler came up here and made false allegations against our team, he made false allegations against all of you, he accused you of a cover-up," he continued.
"He’s been making false allegations against the president," Cipollone added.
"The only one who should be embarrassed, Mr. Nadler, is you, for the way you’ve addressed this body."
"This is the United States Senate. You’re not in charge here,” Cipollone continued.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump blasted Nadler and Adam Schiff, calling them “major sleazebags” during a press conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The president added that he'd "love" to attend his ongoing Senate trial back home.
Trump delivered the unsparing assessment of impeachment proceedings, which began a day earlier.
The president jokingly floated the idea of personally attending the trial, if only to anger the Democrats.
“I’d love to go, wouldn’t that be great?” Trump said.
“Sit right in the front row and stare at their corrupt faces, and I’d love to do it.”
