16 vintage posters warning men about the dangers of womens rights

Not long ago women where seen as inferior to men. Yes. They didn't have the right to even vote! How crazy is that? And to think the threat of women obtaining the right to vote was taken so seriously a load of anti suffragette propaganda posters where created to outlined the dangers of women becoming as independent as men.

The sheer bravery and determination from lots of women in that era saw the beginning of the end of this backward thinking. The Suffragettes changed the course of history for women with endless campaigning and even deaths.

The movement gained popularity towards the late 19th and early 20th century mostly from women from the upper and middle class back rounds, as they became more and more frustrated with their economic situation which affected them on all levels. They where determined to be heard and wanted a position in society where they could finally make a difference.

The following series of images are a collection of these vintage posters showcasing the hysteric propaganda spread at the time of the Suffragette movement. Some of them are downright offensive, while most are just laughable. Either way, it is fascinating and refreshing to see how far we’ve come since then.

Enjoy!
