Jacksonville Shooting: Killer Was Anti-Trump 'Resistance' Member

Following the devasting news that a gunman opened fire during a Jacksonville gaming tournament, leaving three people dead and a further 11 injured, the shooter has now been identified as an anti-Trump "Resistance" group member.

Shooter David Katz opened fire on the crown during the Madden 19 tournament in Florida on Sunday, killing two other gamers and injuring many more, before turning the gun on himself.

According to witnesses at the event, Katz began shooting shortly after he lost the NFL video game competition.

Footage and audio of the shooting were captured by a live stream video, with a red laser dot appearing on the player wearing the red sweatshirt the moment the shooting started.

Jacksonville police confirmed three deceased individuals, including Katz, were located at the scene at Jacksonville Landing on Sunday evening.

Eli Clayton, 21, was the man in the red sweatshirt in the footage who has been named locally as one of the two victims. 

Mr. Clayton, from California, was described as a rising star in the Madden gaming community and a new image revealed that Katz possibly targetted him as a red laser beam was flashed onto the gamer's shirt just moments before he was killed.

The Jacksonville's Sheriff's office said 11 people were wounded and a further two were injured at a restaurant hosting a Madden Video Game Tournament.

Katz turned the gun on himself and Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams has said that there no outstanding suspects.

Witnesses told local media that the 24-year-old gunman was a disgruntled gamer and was angry that he lost Sunday's tournament.

It is not clear if he knew his victims.

Police have not named the two victims, but local media has identified them as 27-year-old Taylor Roberston and Mr. Clayton. 

Mr. Robertson, who’s username is Spotmeplzzz, had won 13 out of his last 18 matches in Madden NFL tournaments.

The 27-year-old from West Virginia was a father and husband and his EA Sports player profile describes him as “one of thoughts opponents in competitive Madden.”

Mr. Clayton has been described as a rising star who had a been having a rough season this year.

His EA Sports player profile describes him as “consistently one of the best in competitive Madden” and he “remains one of the best around and can potentially win it all when it’s done.”

Killer David Katz was a member of the anti-Trump “Resistance”

According to Gateway Pundit, Katz referred to Trump supporters as "Trumptards" on his Reddit page.
